Minimum qualifications

Applicants will meet the following minimum qualificationis:

  • Age - The JAC will establish qualifications regarding minimum age limits.  (Applicant must provide evidence of minimum age respecting any applicable State Laws or regulations.)  Apprentices must not be less than 18 years of age.
  • Education - Two years of High School with transcript from High School.

Applicants must submit a DD-214 to verify military training and / or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for such training / experience.

  • Physical - Applicants will be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the apprentiiceship program, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.

Applicants may have to pass a physical exam by a registered Medical Doctor.  The expense for said physical will be paid by the applicant after qualifying and before being employed.  Applicant may have to submit to a drug test if required by the hiring contractor.

  • Birth Certificate required.
  • All applications will be received without regard to race, color, religion, national orgin, sex, marital status or military discharge.

Application Procedures

  • PLEASE NOTE: APPLCANTS MUST SECURE EMPLOYMENT ON THEIR OWN. A LETTER OF INTENT ON THE COMPANY LETTERHEAD IS MANDATORY.
  • Applicatns will be accepted throughout the year Monday through Friday between 8:30 am to 3:00 pm at Cement Masons Union Local #803.  All persons requestiong an application will have one made available upon signing the applicant log.  Applications are available online at www.local803.com or click HERE to download and print an application.
  • All applications will be identical in form and requirements.  the application form will be numbered in sequence corresponding with the number appearing on the applicant log so that all applications can be accounted for.  Columns will be provided on the applicant log to show race / ethnice and sex identication and the progress dates and final disposition of each application.
